EnviRyde Privacy Policy
EnviRyde Inc. (referred to as “EnviRyde” and the “Platform”) is the sole owner of the information collected on our Platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and will not sell, share, or rent your information to third parties in any manner that differs from what is outlined in this Privacy Policy.
Registration
To use EnviRyde, users must complete a registration process, during which we collect contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used for verification and communication purposes, ensuring users can access the services offered on EnviRyde. By registering, users consent to the use of their data across any current or future services operated by EnviRyde.
Cookies
EnviRyde uses cookies—small data files stored on users’ devices—to enhance user experience. These cookies do not link to personally identifiable information. For example, cookies allow users to remain logged in without needing to re-enter their password. Users may reject cookies, but doing so may limit access to certain features of the Platform. Cookies also help us track user preferences, allowing us to optimize our services based on user behavior.
Security
We take security seriously and implement a range of measures to protect user data. If you have concerns about data security, please contact us for more details on how we safeguard your information.
Legal Compliance and Safety
EnviRyde may share your information with legal authorities, government agencies, or authorized third parties if required by law or if we believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations or respond to legal claims.
- Address potential illegal activity or mitigate risk related to fraud.
- Enforce our Terms of Service and ensure compliance.
- Investigate security issues or protect the rights and safety of EnviRyde users and the public.
We will attempt to notify users of these disclosures unless legally prohibited or if such notification presents a risk (e.g., fraud, harm, or legal obstruction).
Log Files
We use IP addresses and log files to track user activity, analyze trends, and improve the Platform’s performance. This information is used solely for internal purposes.
Service Updates
From time to time, we may send users service updates via email. These communications provide critical information about the Platform’s functionality, and users cannot opt-out of such messages. However, users can manage other communications, including marketing emails, through their account settings.
Location Data
EnviRyde collects and processes location data from your mobile device to enable core features of the app. This includes both approximate and precise location information, depending on your device settings. We use location data for the following purposes:
- Ride Matching and Navigation: To connect passengers with nearby drivers and to provide accurate trip start and end points
- Safety and Verification: To ensure safe and verifiable trip activity, including confirming that trips start and end as expected.
- Carbon Emission Tracking: To calculate and report carbon emissions saved through shared rides.
- Service Improvements: To analyze trip patterns and improve routing efficiency.
Location data may be shared with:
- Matched Drivers and Passengers: Only during the trip, to coordinate rides
- Authorized Third Parties: In anonymized or aggregated form, for reporting and sustainability metrics
You can manage or revoke EnviRyde’s access to location data at any time through your device’s privacy settings. However, disabling location access may limit the functionality of the app, including the ability to request or provide rides.
Opt-Out of Marketing Communications
Users who no longer wish to receive promotional emails can opt-out by following the unsubscribe instructions included in those emails.
Account Cancellation/Deletion
Users may cancel their EnviRyde account at any time through the Account Settings section. Upon cancellation, the account will be deactivated, and data associated with the account will be deleted after a discretionary period. Users can reactivate their account during this period if desired.
Data Deletion
Users can request the deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting EnviRyde. We will ensure that the data is removed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Identity Verification
To maintain security, we may use third-party services for identity verification purposes. For example, our provider may verify users' identities using government-issued identification documents and biometric data. EnviRyde itself does not store biometric data but may access copies of identification documents for verification purposes. Our third-party provider securely handles this information and deletes it after the required retention period.
Android App Data Collection
In line with Google Play's privacy policies, the EnviRyde Android app may collect users' phone numbers and installed app information. Phone number data is shared only with drivers and passengers who are confirmed for the same trip for safety purposes, while installed app data remains private and is not shared with third parties.
Notification of Changes
Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be communicated to users via email. Users will be able to review and understand the changes, which will be applied according to the terms outlined in the updated Privacy Policy
